Board of Directors

The Texas Bandmasters Association Board of Directors is comprised of professional band directors and Fine Arts administrators from across the state of Texas. The Board is responsible for the oversight of all activities of the association. The Board convenes throughout the year to discuss, guide, and implement the goals of the association and to plan the annual Convention/Clinic.

George Little

President 

George Little is the Director of Bands at Lufkin ISD. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. The 2023-2024 school year marks Mr. Little’s twenty-second year of teaching and his eighth year at Lufkin High School. Prior to teaching in Lufkin, he taught for eight years at New Diana High School and six years at Henderson Middle School. Under his direction, the Lufkin High School Band has earned the UIL Sweepstakes Award each of the last seven years, and placed first in the 5A/6A UIL State Military Marching Championship in 2021 and 2023. While at New Diana, Mr. Little’s band was named the 2016 TMEA 3A Honor Band. In addition, the New Diana band was previously a state TMEA Honor Band finalists two times, UIL State Marching Finalists in 2013, and consistently won first or second place at the state level of the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series.

Reagan Brumley

President Elect

Reagan Brumley is the Director of Bands and Fine Arts Coordinator at Lake Highlands High School in Richardson ISD. In this role, he serves as director of the Wind Ensemble and Wildcat Marching Band, team-teaches all of the high school and junior high ensembles, and administers all fine arts programs in the Lake Highlands learning community.

Christopher Yee

Vice President

Christopher Yee is the Director of Bands at Cedar Park High School and the co-founder of the Cedar Park Winds Community Band. Christopher received his bachelor’s degree in music education from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. In 2005, he began teaching middle school band in Austin as an assistant band director at Canyon Ridge Middle School. In 2010, Christopher opened Four Points Middle School as Director of Bands and served in that position until 2017. The Four Points Middle School Wind Ensemble, under Mr. Yee’s leadership, was invited to perform at the 2015 Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic. In November of 2019, Mr. Yee led the Cedar Park Timberwolf Marching Band to claiming their third-consecutive UIL 5A State Championship title.

Jennifer Dillard

Treasurer

Jennifer Dillard is entering her twenty-third year of teaching. Mrs. Dillard has been the Director of Bands at Knox Junior High since 2005. The Knox Bands have received consistent Sweepstakes ratings at the UIL Concert & Sightreading Contests and both Best In Class and Overall Outstanding at various festivals. The Wind Ensemble was also named the Mark of Excellence National Wind Band Honors AA winner in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2019. The Knox Wind Ensemble has been a consistent area and state level finalist for the TMEA CCC State Honor Band competitions. One of Mrs. Dillard’s most honored achievements was being named the 2013 Texas Bandmasters Association’s Exemplary Junior High Band program.

Amanda Drinkwater

Secretary

Amanda Drinkwater currently serves as Director of Fine Arts for the Lewisville Independent School District.  Lewisville ISD includes 61 campuses designated into five feeder patterns: Flower Mound, Hebron, Lewisville, Marcus, and The Colony High Schools.  LISD schools are located within 127 square miles approximately twenty-five miles Northwest of Dallas, Texas. Ms. Drinkwater formerly served twenty-three years as a Texas music educator, with teaching opportunities at Leander High School (1996-2001), The Colony High School (2001-2003), and Marcus High School (2003-2018).

Ronnie Rios

Sergeant-at-Arms

Ronnie Rios is a multi–Grammy Nominated Music Educator originally from Alice, Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music Education graduating Summa Cum Laude. After 25 years plus experience as a high school band director, Mr. Rios now serves as the Director of Athletic Bands at the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley.

Daniel Allen

Past President 

Mr. Allen’s teaching career began in Waxahachie for three years before getting married and moving to El Paso. Mr. Allen taught in the El Paso Independent School District for 27 years with 23 of those years at Franklin High School before retiring from teaching in Texas. Mr. Allen is an active clinician and adjudicator throughout the school year and does numerous leadership and drum major camps during the summer. He and his wife, Ruth, have been married for 27 years and reside in El Paso. She is a successful band director at Hornedo MS, and they have two wonderful children, Lauren and Christopher, who both share a love for music.

 

Michael Brashear

Executive Director

Michael Brashear assumed the position of Texas Bandmasters Association Executive Director in September, 2008. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of the operation of TBA including management of the association’s office located in San Antonio. Mr. Brashear works with the Board of Directors to present the annual TBA Clinic/Convention which is the largest convention of its kind for band directors.
