Your Kids, My Kids, Our Kids. Sharing Students With Other Organizations

Mr. Clines believes that students should have as many opportunities for extracurricular involvement as they choose. In this clinic he will give techniques for band directors to effectively share their students with other school organizations.

Tony Clines is retiring this year after teaching band for 31 years — 4 years in Muleshoe and the last 27 in Robinson. He has stayed in this size school by choice; Mr. Clines believes that students should have as many opportunities for extracurricular involvement as they choose. Mr. Clines' bands in Robinson have received 23 UIL Sweepstakes awards. They are most noted for their successes at the State Marching Contest — Champion four times, Runner-Up four times, and Finalist fourteen times.

Mr. Clines graduated with a Bachelor and then Masters of Music Education degree from Texas Tech University. His professional affiliations include TMEA, ATSSB, TBA, TMAA, and Phi Beta Mu. In 1991 he received the Denius Award for UIL Sponsor Excellence and now serves as UIL Executive Secretary for Region 8.
