

Dr. Bradley N. Kent is the Director of Bands at Texas A&M University-Commerce, where he is the director of both the Wind Ensemble and the Marching Band. In addition, he teaches courses in music education an= both undergraduate and graduate conducting.
Dr. Kent is also the conductor of Blast of Brass, - a professional brass ensemble in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Prior to his appointment at Texas A&M-Commerce, he completed the Master of Music degree and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Wind Conducting at The University of Texas at Austin, where he was a student of Jerry Junkin.
Before his graduate studies, Dr. Kent spent seven years in the Lewisville Independent School District as Director of Bands at Lewisville High School in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. Under Dr. Kent's leadership, the Lewisville Band earned many state and national awards including Southcoast Music Festival "Most Outstanding Band," National Adjudicators Invitational "Grand Champion," 5A Honor Band State Finalist, and a Midwest Clinic performance in 1997.
High School, collegiate, and professional ensembles under his direction have performed at the College Band Directors National Association Conference, the Texas Music Educators Association Conference, the Midwest Clinic, and the Texas Bandmasters Association Conference.
Dr. Kent holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Louisiana State University, where he was a student of Frank Wickes. Dr. Kent was also named the 2000 Texas Young Bandmaster of the Year by Phi Beta Mu. His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, College Band Directors National Association, Kappa Kappa Psi, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
