Susan Scarborough is in her twelth year as Director of Bands at Doerre Intermediate School in KISD. She previously taught fifteen years at Bleyl Junior High in the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Sam Houston State University.

Bands under Mrs. Scarborough's leadership have consistently received "Sweepstakes" awards at UIL Contest, as well as being chosen "Best in Class" in several state competitions. Her bands have also been chosen as a finalist in 1998, 2000, 2002, and 2004 at the Texas Music Educators Association CCC Honor Band Competion. In the most recent competition in 2004, the Honor Band placed 2nd in the state.

Mrs. Scarborough is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association. She is an active clinician and adjudicator throughout the state and is a member of Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Mu (a professional music fraternity) and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association. Mrs. Scarborough has been a member of the Texas Bandmasters Association for 25 years and is currently serving as President on the Board of Directors of TBA. She is also listed in the 2002 edition of "Who's Who Among America's Teachers".

She lives in Spring with her husband James, who works in the information technology division of El Paso Corporation in Houston. They have twins, Laura and Brent, who are attending the University of Houston.
